Your Guide to Cargas Systems
An energizing tech company is making its way to the City of Lancaster in 2019.
The Core at 101NQ will be anchored by Cargas Systems, a business software and consulting company. Software is their business, but shared success is their purpose. They are an Intacct Premier Partner, one of the largest and most experienced Microsoft Dynamics partners in Pennsylvania, and the developers of Cargas Energy, a leading software solution for fuel delivery and service companies. Cargas is not new to Lancaster, and since founder Chip Cargas established the company in 1988 it has grown a lot. Employing over 100 people, Cargas has outgrown their current space and is ready to bring all of their employees under one roof at 101NQ.
Cargas Systems is excited to be bringing an energizing vibe to the center of downtown Lancaster. The company lives by the unique motto of “Think and Act Like an Owner,” demonstrated through their employee-owned structure, which cultivates innovation from the newest employee all the way up to the CEO. “The purpose of our employee-owned culture is to foster an environment where team members love to come to work and are invested in the success of our company,” said Chip Cargas. Marketing engineer, Farid Wijaya, has been with the company for 10 years and was a big fan of the employee-owned structure from the beginning. “Having ownership in the success of the company, makes me want to work harder,” Wijaya explains.
When you check out Cargas’ employee page you’ll find a great looking bunch of Ph.D.’s, mathematicians, CPA’s, software engineers, manufacturing and non-profit experts, all dressed like it’s casual Friday… on a Monday! The jeans and a sweatshirt dress code creates a relaxed and flexible environment in the office but, don’t let their attire fool you. “We have a lot of fun but, everyone has a job to do,” says Cargas Energy Account Manager, Meg Horst. She feels that the flexibility in the office gives her the opportunity to be more productive. (we’re with ya Meg!) “We don’t go with the industry norms, we look to do things better,” says Software Consultant, Joe Campagna.
If one thing is for sure, Cargas Systems is thrilled to be moving their entire team into the City of Lancaster. “I’m looking forward to being close to other businesses who are thriving,” says Account Manager, Angela Ryan while, Farid Wijaya is “excited for the opportunities to be more involved in the community.” Cargas actively supports charitable causes throughout the community both as an organization and through its employees. Every Spring, they hold their annual Spring Rendezvous Fundraiser. The format is cocktails, food stations, live music and an auction and it’s entirely organized and run by the employees. Each year the company chooses one nonprofit within Lancaster to be the beneficiary. We can’t wait to see what the Spring Rendezvous looks like in 2019 at 101NQ!
It’s the personal relationships within the Cargas walls, and outside in the community, that set this local tech company apart. “You develop great fulfilling relationships working here,” Horst exclaims. No wonder Cargas was named #17 on the “List of 100 Best Places to Work in PA” in 2017 (where can we apply?!).
